Herein, a sensor platform, Bi/carboxyphenyl-modified glassy carbon electrode (Bi/CP/GCE), is presented for the detection of Cd2+ and Pb2+ using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). The was obtained through electrografting GCE 4-carboxybenzene diazonium tetrafluoroborate (4-CBD) in situ electrodeposition Bi3+. stability grafted layer proposed mechanism interaction between metal ions supported by DFT calculations. Under optimized conditions, had linear working range 25–500 μg L−1 with LOD 10 (S/N = 3) provided 50–500 25 L−1. fabricated good repeatability reproducibility. applicability tested determination tap water resulting recoveries 96.2–101% 98.1–104% Pb2+.
